Chhay Cheng aka Phat, soldier of division 502, confessed that he and Chhang were former soldiers of company 13, division 502 and secretly went home in 1976 in order to contact Moeun's spy netwoks. At that time, they didn't meet Moeun, so they decided to return their unit.
ឆាយ ចេង ហៅ ផាត ជាយុទ្ធជនកងពល៥០២ បានឆ្លើយថា ខ្លួននិង ឆាង យុទ្ធជននៅកងអនុសេនាធំ១៣ កងពល៥០២ បានលួច រត់ទៅផ្ទះនៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧៦ ដើម្បីទាក់ទងជាមួយខ្សែគិញឈ្មោះមឿន។ ពេលនោះអ្នកទាំងពីរមិនបានជួប មឿន ក៏ត្រឡប់មកកងវិញ។
