Im Chhean joined the Khmer Rouge Revolution in 1973 as a combatant in Division 174. In 1975, he came to Kampong Cham where he took up oppositional activities by allegedly building up C.I.A forces, killing many senior Angkar leaders, destroying rice, burning down Ammunition and Weapons Warehouses in Kampong Cham, designing plots to attack Kampong Cham on 8 September, 1977. He was arrested on 29th September, 1977.
អ៊ីម ឈា ហៅ ឈន បានចូលរួមជាមួយបដិវត្ដន៍ខ្មែរក្រហមនៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ ជា យុទ្ធជននៅកងពលធំ១៧៤។ នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧៥ គាត់បានមកខេត្ដកំពង់ ចាម ជាកន្លែងដែលគាត់ធ្វើសកម្មភាពប្រឆាំងដោយបានបង្កើតកងកម្លាំង សេ អុី អា ធ្វើការសម្លាប់កម្មាភិបាលជាន់ខ្ពស់របស់អង្គការជាច្រើន បំផ្លាញអង្ករ ដុតឃ្លាំងសម្ភារៈ និង ឃ្លាំងសម្ភារវុធ នៅខេត្ដកំពង់ចាម រៀបចំគម្រោងវាលុកខេត្ដកំពង់ចាម នៅថ្ងៃទី៨ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ ១៩៧៧។ គាត់(អុីម ឈា ហៅ ឈាន ) បានចាប់ខ្លួននៅថ្ងៃទី២៩ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៧។
