Lost relatives: My brother, Sae Kop, escaped to Vietnam with me in 1975. However, in 1976, after being informed that our parents were executed by the Khmer Rouge, he returned to our homeland. After the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime, an elderly man named Lon (deceased) informed me that when my brother arrived home (at Prek Tol, Teuk Thla Commune), the Khmer Rouge soldiers captured him, tied his hands behind his back, and brought him to Tumpeang Lapo Prison. I think that he was arrested because they had also arrested our parents. The elderly man named Lon, a cook in the commune dining hall, witnessed the incident. My brother has disappeared and never been seen since. I think he is dead. I do not know who ordered the arrest. Lon informed me that young Khmer Rouge soldiers, who could not even carry their rifles properly, arrested my brother and took him away. I knew that Morn was a Khmer Rouge in charge of the region and district. A majority of Cham families died. I was informed that being taken away meant death. I learned that my brother was taken to Tumpean Lapo Prison (in Tumpeang Lapo Village, Kok Tauch Commune, (former name), but I am not sure exactly where. Mode of participation: I want to file the application form to be a complainant, because I am really busy with both my public and religious work. I am satisfied with my participation. I cannot travel anywhere. |
