Thoeun used to live under Sang's custody. Sang told Thoeun that living in the Khmer Rouge defending line was very difficult, for there were not enough food but full of mosquitoes. Moreover, there were no wine, girls, salary or promotion. On the other hand, promotion, wine, girls, and games did exist in the government armed forces. After being indoctrinated, Thoeun was responsible for destroying soldiers when they were assigned to fight Vietnam, or he might distract the military car into forest so that Sang's group was able to destroy them.
ធឿន ធ្លាប់រស់នៅក្រោមការដឹកនាំរបស់សាង បានអប់រំធឿន ថាយើងនៅខ្សែត្រៀមពិបាកណាស់ ហូបមិនគ្រប់គ្រាន់ មុសខាំ រស់នៅក្នុងជួរទ័ពគ្មានស្រា គ្មានស្រី ប្រាក់ខែគ្មាន បុណ្យសក្ដិគ្មាន ឯនៅខាងទាហានមានបុណ្យសក្ដិ ស្រា ស្រី ល្បែងតាមចិត្ដ ក្រោយពី សាងអប់រំធឿន រួចមកធឿន មានភារៈកិច្ចចាំកំទេចកងទ័ពពេលអង្គការ ចាត់តាំងអោយដឹកទ័ពទៅវាយយួន ឬស្កាត់ឡានអោយចូលព្រៃណា មួយចាំអោយពួកសាង មកកំទេច។
