He was in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry from April to July 1958 (BK, CB, p. 100) ~ He was in the Budget Office from July 1958 (BK, CB, p. 100) ~ He was in the Planning Ministry from February to June 1959 (BK, CB, p. 100) ~ He was in the Ministry of Public Health from June 1959 to April 1960 (BK, CB, p. 100) ~ He was in the Ministry of Finance from August to October 1962 (BK, CB, p. 100) ~ He was in the Planning Ministry from October 1962 to February 1963 (BK, CB, p. 100) ~ Following the violent suppression of a large peasant revolt in Battambang during the Spring of 1967, he disappeared and was presumed at the time to have been murdered by the police or the military (BK, CB, p. 100) ~ He completed his doctoral thesis in 1955 and dedicated it to King Sihanouk (BK, CB, p. 16) ~ In 1964, he published a book calling for a United Front between the Communists and the Sihanouk regime in order to defeat "the greatest enemy, American imperialism" (BK, CB, p. 16) ~ In 1967, he fled to the countryside and took a leading role in the anti-government guerrilla movement (BK, CB, p. 16) ~ Following Sihanouk's overthrow in 1970, he again called for a United Front with Sihanouk (BK, CB, p. 16)
