Phnom Penh, Cambodia with portraits of their quarry on the walls around them, a dozen Cambodian resercher sit at computers in a tiny office here, processing hundreds of thousands of documents that form core of a potential cuint the leaders of the Khmer Rouge. Stacked behind the reserchers are the frayed and yellowing documents: painstaking accounts of torture, killings and forced confessions, a long with autobiographies and procedures personnel records of the Khmer Rouge funetionaries who carried them out.
