Summary / Abstract :
|
In 1978, a Tunisian jurist named Abded Wahab Bouhdiba began work on a report on Khmer Rouge atrocities for the UN. His reserch led him to accounts of forced labor and desperate hunger of an iron-fisted collective society that banned families from eating together and tortured any who opposed its policies Bouhdiba concluded that "The violations of human rights perpetrated in Democratic Kampuchea are of a level which has never been reached since the Nazi period".
