At the age of 19, Um Ponna worked at Tyre Factory K-2. He convinced the former workers that Cambodia would experience the war again because Kampuchea Krom troops whose compositions were bad always admired their past regime. He was disillusioned with the revolution and started to steal factory materials.
ឈ្មោះ អ៊ុំ ប៉ុណ្ណា ធ្វើការនៅរោងចក្រកៅស៊ូកង់ ក-២ អាយុ១៩ឆ្នាំ ឪពុកពាក់ស័ក្កិប្រាំកងពលលេខ៧ភ្នំបាសិត។ អ៊ុំ ប៉ុណ្ណា ធ្វើសកម្មភាពបំផុសកម្មករចាស់ថា ស្រុកខ្មែរពិតជាមានសង្គ្រាមម្ដងទៀត ព្រោះទ័ពនៅកម្ពុជាក្រោមមានច្រើនទាក់ទងកម្មករចាស់ ដែលមានសមាសភាពមិនល្អ ដែលអួតអាងពីសង្គមចាស់។ អ៊ុំ ប៉ុណ្ណា មិនពេញចិត្ដនឹងបដិវត្ដន៍ ហើយលួចសម្ភារៈជាបន្ដបន្ទាប់នៅក្នុងរោងចក្រ។
