Thai Foreign Minister Bhichai Rattakul and his team made a secret journey to the Sisophon District of Battambang in order to discuss a number of issues with Cambodian Foreign Minister Ieng Sary. Topic s included the establishment of embassies, international trade and a border survey; the release of Thai fishermen under Khmer Rouge custody, and the return of Cambodian refugees. Bhichai reportedly sa w groups of farmers working in the fields in the form of co-operatives. Some tractors were used.
