Summary / Abstract :
កំណត់សម្គាល់សេចក្ដីសង្ខេប :
Based on articles by Sydney Schanberg and screenplays for the film of the same name, Christopher Hudson retells the story of Dith Pran and Sydney Schanberg from August 1973 as they cover the war in Ca mbodia as journalists for The New York Times, through the liberation of Phnom Penh by Khmer Rouge troops, Schanberg's departure with Pran left behind, and Pran's horrific personal experiences under Po l Pot rule and subsequently flight from Cambodia, until October 1979 when they meet again in a refugee camp on the border between Thailand and Cambodia. All the anguish and tension of the film is pres erved in this rivetting account of the relationship between two men as well as of the world disintegrating around them. (H.J.)
