Summary / Abstract :
|
La Saroeun [allegedly]was a sleuth to spy on Khmer Rouge activities. In 1970, [Saroeun]infiltrated the revolution in Region 5, and joined the CIA to conduct actions against Khmer Rouge battle plans. [ Saroeun]also undermined the revolution and built up CIA forces. During 1976-77, [Saroeun]encouraged his partisans to wipe out the revolution's forces, propagandized combatants to go back home, built u p additional forces by killing anyone who refused to join, and made contact with outsiders to supply foodstuff to the Free Khmer at Phnom Malai. On 1 July, 1977, [Saroeun]was arrested by Angkar.
