Khmer Rouge troops clashed with Thai border security troops at the Chongchom Mountain pass in Surin Province. No casualties were reported. Thailand submitted a protest note to Cambodia over Khmer intr usions into the Aranyaprathet District of Prachinburi Province. The Thai Interior Minister Samak Sundaravej proposed to set up a barbed wire fence along the border in Aranyaprathet.
