Summary / Abstract :
|
In 1968, Tuon Vanrith [allegedly]was a spy and responsible for building up spy agents amongst students and youth, spying on the Khmer Rouge and propagadized people not to trust the Khmer Rouge. After liberation, [Rith]moved to Region 5 and contacted a CIA agent named Houng, who was Secretary of Region 5 and the leader of the land movement, and tried by every means possible to destroy the revolutio n. [Rith]inspired residents to escape into the forest and hid food supplies and weapons for the an attack in Region 5 with the support of the Thais. On 4 july 1977, [Rith]was arrested by Angkar.
