Summary / Abstract :
In 1970, Mao Saroeun joined the revolution and took a position as a soldier in Pursat Province. [Saroeun]was encouraged to join the CIA. As a CIA agent, [Saroeun]persuaded people to join the CIA and f ormed troops to destroy Angkar's base. [Saroeun]caused quarrels among Angkar's people, in an attempt to make them work for the CIA. [Saroeun]destroyed the revolution's property, catridges and livestoc ks. After the liberation in 1975, [Saroeun]moved to Battambang. [Mao Saroeun]encouraged people to distrust Angkar. [Saroeun]destroyed rice, allowed people to escape to Thailand and contacted In Tam's troop to attack O Chrov. [Mao Saroeun]was arrested by Angkar on August 11, 1977.
