Summary / Abstract :
|
Thaong Chheun, [allegedly]a Free Khmer and former spy for the Free Khmer, convinced people not to trust the Khmer Rouge. In 1975, while working as a Security Chief in the Eastern Zone, [Chheun]allowed the prisoners of war to escape from prison, and encouraged security staff to seize weapons and escape to the forest. On 27 July, 1977, [Chheun]was arrested and imprisoned by Angkar.
