A witness reported that Um Riem [allegedly]joined Pol Pot's revolution in 1971. Then [Um Riem]educated people to join the Workers' Party and to support and supply the Vietnamese; destroyed Pol Pot's r evolutionary forces; and killed people so that others would no longer believe in Pol Pot's leadership. [Um Riem]continued those actions until arrested by Angkar.
