Summary / Abstract :
Documents violations of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, to both of which Kampuchea (Cambodia)was a party, betwee n April 1975 and January 1979. Analysis by a subcommission of the UN Human Rights Commission described the violations as "the most serious that had occurred anywhere in the world since Nazism." Genoci de was perpetrated on minority groups, Buddhist monks, and the national Khmer group itself. (R.E. Noble for Historical Abstracts).
