In 1969, Suon San quit the monkhood and became a spy. He was assigned to spy on the Khmer Rouge investigation and build up spy troops. In 1970, [Suon San]infiltrated the revolutionary ranks in Region 108 of the Northwest Zone in an attempt to build up traitorous forces in the units, to incite soldiers not to fight and to destroy ammunition. In 1975, [Suon San]hid food and weapons for traitors to a ttack the revolution. If they lost the fight, they would escape to Thailand and join with Thai troops in order to attack the revolution again. In 1977, [Suon San]was arrested by Angkar.
