On September 30, 1973, Toem Sun, a Chief of Communist Military Economic, defected to the National Army in Kampot sub-war operation region. He fled because he could no longer endure the Communist oppression.
នៅថ្ងៃទី៣០ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ ទឹម សុន មាននាទីជាប្រធានសេដ្ឋកិច្ច យោធាខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដបានចូលមករួបរួម ក្នុងសង្គមជាតិ ជាមួយកងទ័ពជាតិក្នុងតំបន់សឹករងកំពត។ មូលហេតុ ដែលជននេះរត់មកជ្រកកោនក្នុងរបបសាធារណៈរដ្ឋខ្មែរ ដោយសារខ្លួន មានការធុញទ្រាន់ក្នុងការរស់នៅក្រោមអំណាចជិះជាន់របស់ពួកខ្មែរ កុម្មុយនិស្ដ។
