On September 3, 1974, Chea Sarak, defected to Infantry Brigade 12, base in Thmei pagoda at US 600-700. He also brought with him a AK-47 and 30 bullets. In early 1971, after the attack with Viet Cong in Kampong Tra Lach district, the Battalion had a mission to protect Region 35 of Kampot province. In the Battalion there were 400 soldiers equipped with 2 82 mm mortars a 47 mm D-K, 2 M-75, and the rest were equipped with AK-47, M-16.
ជា សារ៉ាក់ បានចុះចូលជាមួយកងពលតូចថ្មើរជើងទី១២ ថ្ងៃទី៣ កព្ញាា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៤ នៅវត្ដថ្មី អ៊ុយអែស ៦០០-៧០០ ដោយមកជា មួយនូវកាំភ្លើងអាកា៤៧ មួយដើម និងគ្រាប់ចំនួន៣០ផង។ នៅដើម ឆ្នាំ១៩៧១ ក្រោយពេលមានកាមរវាយប្រហារគ្នាជាមួយពួកយៀក កុង នៅស្រុកកំពង់ត្រាច រួចមក ហើយកងវរសេនាតូចមានបេសកកម្ម ការពារតំបន់៣៥ ក្នុងខេត្ដកំពត ដោយមានទាហានចំនួន៤០០នាក់ និងកាំភ្លើងត្បាល់៨២មមីលីម៉ែត្រ ២ដើម ដេកា៥៧មីលីម៉ែត្រ ១ដើម, ៧៥មីលីម៉ែត្រ ២ដើម ក្រៅពីនេះមានកាំភ្លើងអាកា៤៧ និងអឹម១៦ ដែលមានគ្រប់ដៃទាំងអស់។
