On May 12, 1971, around 400 North Viet Congs and Khmer Viet Cong, equipped with all kinds of weapons, moved from Cha sub-district, Prey Kabass district, Takeo province to Sa Ang district, by passing Boeng Cheung Lorng and they then divided into two groups and hide themselves in villages as the following:
300 people deployed at WT:030-539 along the edge of Svay Ta Ny lake in Teuk Vel sub-district, and 100 people established head-quarters at VT:020-540 in Svay Ta Ny school, Teuk Vel sub-district, Sa Ang district, Kandal province. They attempted to destroy national armed forces base in Sa Ang district. កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១២ ខែឧសភា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧១ ទ័ពយៀកកុង និងខ្មែរយៀកកុង ប្រដាប់អាវុធគ្រប់ធុនប្រហែល៤០នាក់ ចេញពីសង្កាត់ចារ ស្រុកព្រៃ កប្បាស ខេត្ដតាកែវ កាត់តាមបឹងជើងលោង ចូលមកស្រុកស្អាង បំបែកគ្នាជា ២ក្រុម។ ក្រុមទី១ មានគ្នា៣០០នាក់ ចូលមកលាក់ខ្លួន នៅតាមមាត់បឹងស្វាយតាជី ត្រង់ចំណុចឌុបដឺវ៉េតេៈ០៣០-៥៣៩ ក្នុងសង្កាត់ទឹកវិល។ ក្រុមទី២ មានគ្នាចំនួន១០០នាក់ ចូលមកតាំង កន្លែងក្នុងសាលារៀនស្វាយតាជី ត្រង់ចំណុចឌុបដឺវ៉េតេៈ០២០-៥៤០ ក្នុងសង្កាត់ទឹកវិល ស្រុកស្អាង គោលបំណងរៀបចំវាយប្រហារមូលដ្ឋាន ទ័ពនៅស្អាង។
