A source repoted that the enemies under the command of San, a rocke specialist had produced 86 rocket shells which were made from gun-powders of 105 mm rocket shells. On August 9, 1974, the Khmer Communist soldiers under the command of Saroeun, in Company 1, Battalion 101, District 31, moved to district 18 in order to attack National Army who were fighting along National Road No.5 between Phnom Penh and Kampong Chhnang province.
ប្រភពព័ត៌មានបានផ្ដល់មកថា នៅវត្ដក្ងោកមាស ត្រង់ចំណុចវ៉េអ៊ុយ ៨៧៨-៤៤៤ ក្រោមការដឹកនាំរបស់អ្នកបចេ្ចកទេសឈ្មោះ សន ខ្មាំងរៀបចំធ្វើកាំជ្រួចចំនួន៨៦ ដោយយកវត្ថុធាតុដើមពីគ្រាប់ ១០៥មម។ កាលពីថ្ងៃ៩-សីហា-១៩៧៤ កងអនុសេនាធំ ខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដមួយកងក្រោមបញ្ជាអាចារ្យ សារឿន នៅក្នុង កងវរៈសេនាតូចលេខ ១០១ប្រចាំស្រុកលេខ៣១ បានធ្វើ ចលនាមកកាន់ស្រុកលេខ១៨ ដើម្បីបន្ថែមទ័ពដែលកំពុងវាយប្រហារ ផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៥ ចន្លោះភំ្នពេញ-កំពង់ឆ្នាំង។
