On February 25, 1973 about 1,000 Khmer Viet Cong armed forces of unit 180 and 150, under the command of Sa Ngam and A Heng, moved from Kampong Thom to Kampong Chhnang by crossing Stung Sen VU 440-862. Then, they hid themselves near O Sanlung VU 403-892, Chhnok Trou sub-district, Boribo district, Kampong Chhnang province. Their three headquarters,
at Kampong Khleang, Kampong Slaut of Kampong Thom, and in Siem Reap, were under the command of Chhuon. កាលពីថ្ងៃទី២៥ ខែកុម្ភៈ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ មានខ្មែរយៀកកុងប្រដាប់អាវុធ ប្រហែល១,០០០នាក់ សិ្ថតនៅក្នុងកងលេខ១៨០ និង១៥០ ក្រោម បញ្ជាការឈ្មោះ សា ង៉ាម និង អាហេង បានចេញពីកំពង់ធំ សំដៅមក កំពង់ឆ្នាំង ដោយបានកាត់តាមសឹ្ទងសែន វ៉េអ៊ុយ ៤៤០-៨៦២។ ក្រោយមកពួកខ្មាំងខាងលើបានលាក់ខ្លួននៅម្ដុំអូរសន្លង់ វ៉េអ៊ុយ ៤០៣-៨៩២ សង្កាត់ឆ្នុកទ្រូស្រុកបរិបូរណ៍ ខេត្ដកំពង់ឆ្នាំង។ ប្រភពបានបន្ដ ទៀតថាប៉ុស្ដិ៍បញ្ជាការធំរបស់ខ្មាំងទាំង៣កន្លែង គឺកំពង់ឃ្លាំង, កំពង់ស្លូត ក្នុងខេត្ដកំពង់ឆ្នាំង និងសៀមរាប គឺសិ្ថតនៅក្រោមបញ្ជាការឈ្មោះ ឈួន។
