On March 14, 1973, some 500 North Yuon-Khmer Viet Cong soldiers came to stay at VT 981-515, 992-537 and 974-538 in Kampong Trea village, Prek Koy sub-district, Sa Ang district, Kandal province. They attempted to attack National Army in Sa Ang district office and Takhmau provincial town shortly there after.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១៤ ខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ យួនយៀកកុង និងខ្មែរយៀកកុង ចំនួនប្រហែល៥០០នាក់ ប្រដាប់អាវុធគ្រប់ដៃបានចូលមកស្នាក់នៅភូមិ កំពង់ទ្រា ត្រង់ចំណុចវ៉េតេ ៩៨១-៥១៥, វ៉េតេ ៩៩២-៥៣៧ និងវ៉េតេ ៩៧៤-៥៣៨ ក្នុងសង្កាត់ព្រែកគយ ស្រុកស្អាង ខេត្ដកណ្ដាល។ គោលបំណងរបស់ពួកខ្មាំង គឺប្រុងវាយប្រហារសាលា ស្រុកស្អាង និងក្រុងតាខ្មៅនៅពេលខាងមុខឆាប់ៗនេះ។
