On January 11, 1973, around 300 Khmer Viet Cong soldiers with signal number 34 on sleeves armed with
one 82mm heavy artillery, two 60mm mortars, three PM-AC guns, one hundred FM-AC guns, sixty CKC guns and two B-40 guns established shelters at VT 699-582, in Ang Po Pel sub-district, Kong Pisey district, Kampong Speu province. កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១១ ខែមករា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ មានខ្មែរយៀកកុងប្រហែល ៣០០ នាក់ដែលមានពាក់សញ្ញាណលេខ៣៤ នៅនឹងដៃអាវផង ប្រដាប់ ដោយអាវុធ៨២មម ១ដើម, ៦០មម ២ដើម, ប៉េអ៊ឹម-អាសេ៣ដើម, អេហ្វអ៊ឹម-អាសេ ១០០ដើម, សេកាសេ ៦០ដើម និងបេ-៤០ ចំនួន២ដើម ចូលមកតាំងជម្រកនៅចំណុចវ៉េតេៈ៦៩៩-៥៨២ សង្កាត់អង្គពពេល ស្រុកគងពិសី ខេត្ដកំពង់សឺ្ព។
