On April 24, 1970, Pheng Hai, served in the Khmer Liberation armed forces in Prasat village for 5 months. And in late 1970, he escaped from his birth place and joined the national secret agent unit, under the command of Chum Suy in the ministry of documentation in Chba Ampeou district. Until in February 1973, he was forcibly gathered and evacuated toward Koh Thom village by Khmer Viet Cong soldiers. And On October 18, 1973, he fled from enemy region toward Koh Thom village, and joined the National Army in Prek Tuon.
កាលពីឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ ខ្ញុំបានចូលធ្វើជាខ្មែររំដោះនៅភូមិប្រាសាទ តាយោបាន៥ខែ នៅចុងឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ខ្ញុំបានរត់ចេញទៅស្រុកកំណើត វិញ ហើយចូលធ្វើភ្នាក់ងារសម្ងាត់ខាងលោក ជុំ ស៊ុយ ក្រសួង ស្រាវជ្រាវឯកសារនៅច្បារអំពៅ។ ដល់ខែកុម្ភះ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ ខ្ញុំត្រូវ ខ្មែរយៀកកុងកៀរយកទៅកោះធំ។ ដល់ថ្ងៃទី១៨ តុលា ១៩៧៣ ខ្ញុំរត់ចេញពីតំបន់ខ្មាំងកោះធំ ចូលមកបង្ហាញខ្លួននៅកងទ័ពជាតិ យើងដែលប្រចាំការនៅព្រែកយួន។
