On January 28, 1974, Khmer Communist planned to attack Phnom Penh in two groups. The first group of 1,500 troops in regiment 101-D who were under the command of Ta-101 would start their attack from Wat Tranum Chroeng at VT 746-684 to Pochentong. The second group of 2,000 troops in battalion 06 and 09 who were under the command of Moeung Samnang would start their attack from Prek Kampeus at VT 905-655 to Stung Meanchey. The Khmer Communist troops were goning to attack Phnom Penh on February 1, 1974.
កាលពីថ្ងៃ២៨-មករា-១៩៧៤ ពួកខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដបានរៀបចំផែនការ វាយប្រហារទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញ ជាពីរក្រុម។ ក្រុម១ មានគ្នាប្រហែល ១,៥០០នាក់ ស្ថិតនៅក្នុងកងវរៈសេនាធំ១០១ ដេក្រោមបញ្ជាការ ឈ្មោះ តា១០១ ចាប់ផ្ដើមវាយប្រហារពីវត្ដទ្រនុំច្រឹង ត្រង់វ៉េតេ ៧៤៦-៦៨៤ ឆ្ពោះមកពោធិ៍ចិនតុង និងក្រុមទី២ មានគ្នាប្រហែល ២,០០០នាក់ ស្ថិតនៅក្នុងកងវរៈសេនាតូច០៦ និង០៩ ក្រោមបញ្ជា ការឈ្មោះ មឿង សំណាង ចាប់ផ្ដើមវាយប្រហារពីព្រែកកំពិស ត្រង់វ៉េតេ ៩០៥-៦៥៥ ឆ្ពោះមកស្ទឹងមានជ័យ។ ប្រភពបានបន្ថែម ទៀតថា ពួកខ្មាំងខាងលើ នឹងចាប់ផ្ដើមវាយប្រហារទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញ នៅថ្ងៃ១-កុម្ភះ-១៩៧៤ នេះ។
