On January 25, 1974, approximately 1,200 Khmer Communist equipped with various weapons including a B40, Mass 36 under the command of Tai Len moved from Preah Vihear province to set up shelters in Kampong Rouk village at VU 790-110. They divided into 2 groups. First group of 900 troops under the command of Tai Len, stayed around Prek Kdam at VU 800-060. The second group of 300 troops under the command of Kieu Samphan stayed around Stung Mok Kampoul of Phnom Del province.
កាលពីថ្ងៃ២៥-មករា-១៩៧៤ មានខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដប្រហែល ១,២០០នាក់ ប្រដាប់ដោយអាវុធ ពិសេសមានបេ៤០ ១ដើម, ម៉ាស៣៦ ក្រោមបញ្ជាការឈ្មោះ តៃ ឡេន បានចេញពីខេត្ដព្រះវិហារ មកតាំងជម្រកនៅភូមិកំពង់រូក វ៉េអ៊ុយ ៧៩០-១១០ ដោយបាន បំបែកគ្នាជាពីរក្រុម គឺក្រុមទី១ មានគ្នាប្រហែល៩០០នាក់ ក្រោម បញ្ជាការឈ្មោះ តៃ ឡេន បានចុះមកស្នាក់នៅម្ដុំព្រែកក្ដាម វ៉េអ៊ុយ ៨០០-០៦០ និងក្រុមទី២ មានគ្នាប្រហែល៣០០នាក់ ក្រោម បញ្ជាការឈ្មោះ ខៀវ សំផន បានចូលមកស្នាក់នៅម្ដុំស្ទឹងមុខកំពូល ខេត្ដភ្នំដិល។
