On March 16, 1974, a Khmer Communist Bin Bun aka Mao, defected to national military authorities in Battalion 299, Brigade 38 based at WU:497-288. He confessed that he served as a militiaman in Pung Ra village, Lveang Leu sub-district, Kampong Siem district of Kampong Cham province.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១៦ ខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៤ មានខ្មែរកុម្មុយនស្ដម្នាក់ឈ្មោះ ប៊ិុន ប៊ុន ហៅ ម៉ៅ បានចូលមកសារភាព នៅកងវរៈសេនាតូច ២៩៩ កងពលតូចទី៣៨ របស់កងទ័ពជាតិ ត្រង់ចំណុចឌុបដឺវ៉េអ៊ុយ ៤៩៧-២៩៨។ ប្រភពបានសារភាពថា ខ្លួនជាកងឈ្លបនៅភូមិពាងឃុំល្វាងលើ ស្រុកកំពង់សៀម ខេត្ដកំពង់ចាម។
