On July 27, 1974, Kung Bunthoeun, 18 years old, defected to the national militiamen at Prey Koh village at VT 542-608 unit in O krang Ampel Bridge Battalion 609 at VT 570-688 in , he brought along one AR-15 gun.
កាលពីថ្ងៃ២៧-កក្កដា-១៩៧៤ ឈ្មោះ គង់ ប៊ុនធឿន អាយុ ១៨ ឆ្នាំ បានមកសុំចុះចូលជាមួយអ្នកស្រុកប្រដាប់អាវុធ «កងស្វ័យត្រាណ»ភូមិព្រៃកោះ ត្រង់វ៉េតេ ៥៤២-៦០៨ ដែលជាកងវរៈសេនាតូច លេខ៦០៩ នៅស្ពានអូរក្រាំងអំពិល ត្រង់វ៉េតេ ៥៧០-៦៨៨ ដោយនាំមកជាមួយនូវកាំភ្លើងអាអ៊ែ១៥ មួយដើម។
