On August 7, 1974 Puoch Saroeun, 20 years old, defected to Thnal Totoeng military operation unit of Kampong Speu based sub-military region in La Thyoung at VT:642-747. He also brought along M-16 and a magazine.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី០៧ ខែសីហា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៤ ឈ្មោះ ពួច សារឿន អាយុ២០ឆ្នាំ បានភ្ញាក់រឮកចូលមកសារភាពនៅឡធ្យូង វ៉េតេៈ៦៤២-៧៤៧ តំបន់ប្រតិបតិ្ដការសឹកថ្នល់ទទឹងនៅ កងឯកភាពផ្នែកសឹករង កំពង់សឺ្ព ដោយនាំមកជាមួយនូវកាំភើ្លងអ៊ឹម១៦ មួយដើម និងគ្រាប់ មួយប្រអប់។
