On May 16, 1974, a Khmer Communist El Trouloas alias Thy, soldier of Company 5, Battalion 88 in Koh Kul. He defected himself at second office sub-military headquarter in Kampong Cham.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១៦ ឧសភា ១៩៧៤ ម៉េាង ៩ៈ០០ មានខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដម្នាក់ ឈ្មោះ អែល ទ្រូលាស់ ហៅ ធី ជាយុទ្ធជននៅក្នុងកងអនុសេនាធំ ទី៥ នៃកងវរសេនាតូច៨៨ ប្រចាំការនៅកោះគល់ បានចូលមកសារភាពរួបរួមក្នុងសង្គមជាតិ វិញនៅការិយាល័យទី២ នៃសេនាធិកាសឹករងកំពង់ចាម។
