On January 12, 1975, a Khmer communist, Mang Sarun, escaped from the enemy zone to report himself to the national armed force authority at Bakk Prea checkpoint UV 233-722. He brought along with him 2 hand grenades. He was a temportary political commisioner of Region 5.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១២ ខែមករា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៥ មានខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដភ្ញាក់រឮក ម្នាក់ឈ្មោះ ម៉ង់ សារុន បានរត់ចេញពីតំបន់ខ្មាំងចូលមកចុះចូលក្នុង សង្គមជាតិជាមួយអាជ្ញាធរយោធាជាតិនៅប៉ុសិ៍្ដបាក់ព្រាចំណុចអ៊ុយវ៉េ ២៣៣-៧២២ ដោយនាំមកជាមួយនូវគ្រាប់បែកដៃចំនួន២គ្រាប់។ ខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដភ្ញាក់រឮកនេះជាស្នងការនយោបាយបណ្ដោះអាសន្ន នៃតំបន់៥។
