Yoeung Keo, Vietnamese spy, confessed that Vietnam paid high attention to the protection of Peam. The military unit providing protection there was a regiment of division 7, 2 regiments of division 9, a regiment of division 207, and Hatieng district border security post. The Vietnamese authority evacuated their people from Hatieng and their forces were staying at people's houses. Kung Sorn aka HunThoeun reported that at Peam, there were division 9, 11 and 6. In term of location, Thoeun reported consistently with Yoeung Keo.
យឿង កែវ ភ្នាក់ងារចារកម្មយួនបានសារភាពថាពួកយួនបានយក ចិត្ដទុកដាក់ការពារ ពាមណាស់ អង្គភាពយោធាដែលការពារនៅទីនោះ មានកងពលលេខ ៧ មួយវរសេនាធំ កងពលលេខ ៩ ២វរសេនាធំ កងពលលេខ ២០៧ ១វរៈសេនាធំ និងកងសន្ដិសុខការពារព្រំដែន ស្រុកហាទៀង។ ពួករដ្ឋអំណាចយួនបានជម្លៀសប្រជាជនចេញពីពាម «ហាទៀង»អស់ហើយ នៅសល់តែទ័ពយួនដែលស្នាក់នៅតាម ផ្ទះរបស់ប្រជាជន ។ ចំណែក គង់ ស៊ន នៅ ហ៊ុន ធឿន ថានៅពាមមានកងពលលេខ ៩ លេខ ១១ និង លេខ ៦ ឯទីតាំងទ័ព ធឿន និយាយស្របគ្នា និង យឿង កែវ ដែរ ។
