Yoan said that Chhim has three siblings, one sister and two brothers. His father died before 1975. His mother died in 1975. Ny joined the revolution on August 28, 1972. Then Angkar sent him to serve the army in Kampong Cham province. In 1976, he visited home and said that he worked in Phnom Penh. After that he disappeared.
