On July 9, 1971, about 200 North Yuon Viet Cong soldiers established shelters at VT 972-557, in Sa Ang Phnom village , Sa Ang Phnom sub-district, Sa Ang district, Kandal province 200 others gathered together at VT 932-593, in Tuol O Kdoeung, Kandal Sub-district, Kandal Stung District. They attemped to attack against the National Army in Siem Reap village, Siem Reap sub-district, Kandal Stung district, Kandal province.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី៩ កក្កដា ១៩៧១ យួនយៀកកុងខាងជើងចំនួន ២០០នាក់ ចូលមកតាំងជម្រកនៅភូមិស្អាងភ្នំ ត្រង់ចំណុចវ៉េតេ ៩៧២-៥៥៧ ក្នុងឃុំស្អាងភ្នំ ស្រុកស្អាង។ យួនយៀកកុងចំនួន ប្រហែល២០០នាក់ផេ្សងទៀត បានមកប្រមូលទ័ពនៅទួលអូរក្ដឿង ត្រង់ចំណុចវ៉េតេ ៩៣២-៥៩៣ ក្នុងឃុំកណ្ដាល ស្រុកកណ្ដាលស្ទឹង។ ពួកខ្មាំងមានបំណងវាយប្រហារកងការពារជាតិយើងដែលប្រចាំការនៅ សៀមរាប ស្រុកកណ្ដាលស្ទឹង ខេត្ដកណ្ដាល។
