Em Chem joined the revolution through Prakk Chea on 1 December 1972. At first, Chem was at cell 112, Platoon 22, Company 22. In 1974, Chan came to live in Region 25. In 1975, Chan was a soldier of district 18 production cell. Chann Thon was a soldier of region 25 cell and persuaded Chan to flee to home. Chan was lazy working and fearing of the battlefield.
ឆែម ចន ចូលបដិវត្ដតាមរយៈប្រាក់ ជា នៅថ្ងៃ១-១២-១៩៧២។ ចូលដំបូងនៅកង ១១២ អនុសេនាតូច ២២ អនុសេនាធំ ២២។ ១៩៧៤ ចន ផ្លាសមកនៅកងតំបន់ ២៥។ ១៩៧៥ ជាយុទ្ធជន ផលិតស្រុក ១៨។ ចាន់ ថុន យុទ្ធជននៅកងតំបន់ ២៥ ឃោស នាបំផុស ចន ឱ្យរត់ទៅផ្ទះ។ ចន ខ្ចិលធ្វើការហើយខ្លាចសមរភូមិ។
