President Ford today underscored U.S diplomatic efforts with military move in a delicate attempt to obtain the early release of the U.S cargo ship Mayaguez, seized yesterday by a Cambodian gunboat. The state department has asked China, through its mission office here, to help in freeing the vessel and its 40 American crewmen. A similar appeal was reportely made by the U.S Liaison office in Peking to the office of Prince Norodom Sihanouk.
