March 18, 1970, marked an end and a beginning An end to 15 years of U.S intervention in Cambodian affairs by exclusively diplomatic, political and economic means, a beginning of overt military aggression. By March 18, 1975, the wreckage of 20 years of interventionist policies-including five years of genocidal warfare against the Cambodian people had become clear for all to see. It had even become clear to many in the U.S congress, who have become reluctant to throw more "good money after bad".
