Summary / Abstract :

The last few days have been for the "Crippled President of the Phnom Penh republic" frightful days. The shadow of death with its scythe has been looming large everywhere. Every attempt of the president to stave off his doom has been futile. Space and time alike are running short. In his weelchair, he has been thinking with sostalgia of past dry seasons. Not long ago, there was still strong US air support and "allied" Saigon ground troops, artillery and armour than the "army of the Phnom Penh republic still dared make a thrust here, mount an onset there as a pretext to raise a ballyhoo about and imaginary victory now and then for the gullible.
