Summary / Abstract :
|
Hamlet and village lanes had all a new look. The Jerry-build huts covered with bullet-riddled corrugated iron or with oiled paper have been replaced by solid and nead bamboo houses. Orchards were growing lush again. Bamboo shoots were pushing up plumb. Gourds and pumpkins were hanging thic under trellises. Chilli pods hid their latticed supports under a riot of red.
