The foreign ministry of the republic of South Vietnam has criticized the new U.S government for continuing the same old policy of opposition to the people of Vietnam. In a statement released on August 15, it said; "Immediately after taking office, U.S president Gerald Ford made repeated assurances that the United State would not change its policy in Vietnam and would continue military and economic aid to the Nguyen Van Thieu administration.
