Lon Nol suppet regime in Phnom Penh cannot be saved despite frantic U.S efforts to maintain a semblance of life. American advisers and U.S munitions are only artificially prolonging the days of this regime despised by the people and totally incapable of stopping the process of its disintegration. This desintegration is intrinsic to and even accelerated by the attempt to prolong the war which keeps the regime temporarily in power over a dwinding portion of the territory and populace.
