Thailand's angry reaction to the use of its territory in the U.S attack on Cambodia this month was one of many such protests from third world and socialist countries. Vice Premier Li Hsien Nien of the people's Republic of China pointed out that the U.S had not yet learned the lessons of its defeat in Indochina "A few days ago, when an American ship invanded Cambodia's territorial water, Cambodia took legitimate measures against the ship to safeguard her state sovereignty." he said "But the United States went so far as to make an issue of this matter and send planes to bomb Cambodians territory and ships. This is an outright act to of piracy which should be strongly condemned by world public opinion."
