Summary / Abstract :
|
American participation in the war in Cambodia has been described as a test case of the Nixon doctrine. Since the Indochina War engulfed Cambodia in march 1970 at time when there was little enthusiasm in the US for the Gorvernment's foreign adventures, American involvment on the side of Phnom Penh government could only be limited. Limited it remains, but only compaired with to American presence in neighbouring South Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. The US has equipped and supplies Cambodia armed forces, props up the Lon Nol regime with economics aid, bombs North Vietnamese infiltration routes and provides combat air support.
