Government troops today pushed back forces that had created a bulge in the defense perimeter eight miles northwest of Phnom Penh, according to field reports. A government official chained thousand of soldiers and civilians that had been feared lost were holding out near Neak Loung, an enclave on the Mekong River that fell to the insurgent on tuesday.
