According to AKI, 7,200 Phnom Penh anf Saigon puppet troops, including 25 high-ranking officers, a general from Saigon and a general from Phnom Penh, were wiped out to or captured in June by the Cambodian people's National Liberation Armed forces. There are 18 battalions, 13 companies and including 9 tanks. Therefore, some areas, especially in Takeo and Kompong Speu provinces- with a total population of 70,000-were liberated. The liberated areas now cover 85 percent of the total land of Cambodia and have a population of more than 5 million.
