Le 4 Octobre, les forces de Liberation national Khmers ont intercepte et attaque violemment les deux colonnes fantoches de Saigon venant a la rescousse du battalion de commandos cantonne a Ampuk (pres de la frontiere Kmero-Vietnamienne): 2 compaines de commandos aneaties, 180 ennemis turs ou blesses, lescadron et 1 peloton de blindes de Saigon anéantis, 18 tanks et blindés détruits.
