Some 25,000 Saigon troops moved deeper into Cambodia last week after allegedly destroying a few "enemy" installations along the Cambodia South Vietnam border. Destination of the troops maybe the chup ruber plantation where American helicoters on December 8-10 had flown over 1000 missions involving mostly strafing B-52s also bambed the chup area a usual pre-invasiontatie. In other action in Cambodia Noational United Front Forces were fightening a noose around Kampong Thom, a provincial capital where some 10,000 Phnom Penh troops had taken refuge, and were keeping up pressure on the capital itself. "Highly Placed Official Sources" in Saigon, Ap reported, now admit that patriotic "forces now controlled as much as 80o/o of Cambodia and could take the rest at will"..
