An embarrased Nixon administration is confronted with a series of insuperable is the Cambodia puzzle. The last dry season (Novermber 1972-April 1973) was a bitter one of the US and its puppets in Cambodia: another 78,700 of Lon Nol's mercenaie were put out of action 16,650 weapons of all types and 2,300 tons of war equipment seized and IOI planes shot down on destroyed on the ground (AKI. June 1, 1973). All roads leading to Phnom Penh were cut off and fierce battles took place near the capital (only 16 km from Pochentong airfield, UPI June 10, 1973)...
